While working at Pixel Toys Ltd. I worked on a VR project along with other 7 people from different disciplines. Even though the original product was first released on Gear VR,  then on Oculus Go and Rift, we had the opportunity to expand on this already successful experience​ with an additional mechanic and a complete visual update in view of the release of the Oculus Quest.

During the development of the project, I covered the role of Game Designer and the only one fulltime on the project. I was responsible for designing various systems we wanted to add to the game to provide a better 6DoF VR experience, such as:

 

  • New Dual Wield Mechanics

  • Immersive Pickup Spawns

  • Melee Weapons

  • Melee Damage States

  • Projectile Interactions (dodging and deflecting)

  • Inventory Rework

  • New Contextual VO

  • New Combos Multipliers

  • Improving and extending FTUE to introduce the new mechanics

  • Rebalancing all levels to accommodate the new features

Drop Dead: Dual Strike - Release Trailer

The main story campaign features 15+ hours of action-packed, fun-filled, immersive adventure gameplay. Repeatable stages, leaderboards, and endless multiplayer horde maps extend the replay value extensively.

This edition of the game was part of the line-up of launch titles for the Oculus Quest, rapidly claiming a spot in the top 10 top-selling games on the platform, as the most successful entry in the franchise. â€‹
